Latest News - Temporary Staff Contract

Contract Launch Event
The Temporary Staff contract launch on the 28th May was a successful event, with approximately 100 attendees. Thank you to all who attended to learn more about how to save and use the new contract.

Pricing Schedule
The Pricing Schedule has been split into 18 supplier booklets, and shows the pricing for each supplier for the category of work they can supply staff for. The location of the pricing schedule on smartbuy® has also changed slightly. Please follow the steps in the “How to Hire” guide available at nswbuy.com.au

Extension of Fuel and Associated Products contract / new E10 supplier
NSW Procurement has extended Contract 366 (Fuel and Associated Products) for a further 12 months. The contract now expires on 30th June 2010. Shell has also recently been added to the list of E10 (10% ethanol blended petrol) card suppliers.

Effective immediately, Shell is able to supply discounted E10 from a range of its outlets, including Coles Express service centres. Shell E10 card users, issued under Contract 366 need to note that: 

  • Shell E10 card is restricted to purchase E10 (10% ethanol blended petrol) only and customers will not be able to purchase any other products using this card
  • 'Unleaded E10' is printed on each unique card.

Microsoft Agreement Update

Please be aware that the NSW Government's Agreement with Microsoft expired on June 20th 2009. It has become apparent during a series of negotiations that achieving a desirable agreement to extend the contract with Microsoft is unlikely.

New ICT Services ePortal launched

Thank you to all those people who attended the launch of the new ICT Services ePortal on the 17th June. This contract is the largest ICT services contract ever released in the NSW public sector. The contract offers a panel of over 200 small, medium and large suppliers, covering a comprehensive range of ICT services in over 30 different categories.

Commitment needed for Electricity Large Sites (777) contract

NSW Procurement will shortly be issuing a request for tender for the retail supply of conventional electricity and green power to NSW Government large sites, street lighting and traffic signals commencing from 1 July 2010.

A letter has been sent out to all customers seeking confirmation on commitment to purchase electricity from this State Contract. With firm commitment on the volume of electricity to be purchased from all agencies, we can aggregate NSW government's purchasing power and obtain the lowest possible prices compared to any individual agency negotiation, achieving significant savings.

Fire extinguishers split into two contracts

There are now two contracts for fire extinguishers. The first contract (293- Supply and Delivery) is managed by NSW Procurement. The second contract (0702190 - Maintenance & Provision of Professional Services) is managed by OPWS Facilities Management.

Contract for Government Construction
GC21 is a standard-form contract for government construction projects, specifically designed to provide everything required to develop and administer a Government construction contract .The step-by-step approach used is designed to assist in creating construction contracts for both basic and detailed construction projects.
 
GC21 is suitable for construction contracts valued at more than $1 million and may also be used for contracts of smaller value that involve multi-trades with potentially high procurement risk.
