Retail Supply of Natural Gas Update |
|
The current Natural Gas contract expires on 30 September 2009. The Deed of Agreement is currently being finalised for the new contract for the Retail Supply of Natural Gas (consumption less than 10 TJ per annum) to commence from 1 October 2009.
Agencies may be aware that Independent Pricing and Regulatory Tribunal (IPART) regulated tariff prices for Natural Gas small sites have increased by approximately 40% since the establishment of the current contract in 2006. Agencies have been insulated from these price increases due to the fixed term nature of the current contract.
Going forward, the new contract will seek to reduce the effect of these price increases with competitive discounts being provided off the IPART regulated tarfiff rates.
