Government Telecommunications Agreements (GTA) Contracts 1a, 3, 4 and 5

To support the achievement of savings, the State Contracts Control Board has changed certain arrangements across Government Telecommunications Agreements (GTAs) until cost reduction initiatives have been realised.

The decision follows an ICT expenditure review recently conducted by NSW Treasury, which resulted in the NSW Government Telecommunications savings program.
What this Change Means for Agencies

NSW Treasury will provide agencies with reports detailing identified savings opportunities. NSW Procurement can also offer assistance in securing potential GTA savings.

To assist Agencies in realising savings as denoted in the Housley report, in October 2011 the State Contracts Control Board issued the following directive (a letter regarding the directive shall also be sent to Lead Agencies shortly).

•         Approval needs to be sought from NSW Procurement prior to:
o    the extension of any GTA category 1a arrangements
o    the procurement of GTA equipment incapable of delivering IP solutions
•         No new GTA category 1a arrangements to be entered into
•         No new GTA category 3 or 4 fixed term contracts established
•         No new GTA category 3 or 4 publically switched telephone network (PSTN) reliant orders to be placed
About GTA Agreements

The Department of Finance and Services offers a number of diverse Government Telecommunication Agreements for the supply of telecommunication solutions and related services to eligible NSW government customers. The agreements are designed to offer the best possible market rates and value, and consist of the following categories:

•         GTA 1a: data/high speed internet services
•         GTA 3: fixed voice services
•         GTA 4: mobile, satellite and paging products and services
•         GTA 5: equipment & services, audio/video conferencing systems

NSW Procurement can assist your agency in securing savings via the recommendation of an approved GTA 5 supplier.
